Behold, the Protostar! This is the player's craft from Studio Nasu's spaceship shooter, named after the title ship - Protostar.

In the fiction of the game, it is high tech fighter carrying a prototype warp drive. It is thought to be the smallest warp capable craft built by any of the factions that lay claim to the galaxy.

Operated by the Royal Vanguard Navy, the Protostar is pushed into service from the R.V.N. Phalanx, a light carrier assigned to patrol a derelict system for pirate activity.

The sprite was created pixel by pixel, in Photoshop CS2.

I almost thought that was a 3-D model when I saw the thumbnail. That's some great shading and rotation you have in that animation!

Thanks man! I spent a lot of time tweaking it until it was just right, since I knew the player would be looking at it 24/7. I actually did start a 3d model for kicks but that was way after all the main animation set for the ship was done. Maybe I'll finish it up one day and put it up as well.
